Looking for what's looking
"What we are
looking for
is what is looking."
~ St. Francis of Assisi
What's looking is what you're looking for. If you're a spiritual seeker, looking for that ultimate Truth that surpasses understanding, that Truth that will set you free, then look no further than "what is looking". Look for that.
That brings it home, most intimately, because "what is looking" is you.
But what are "you" in essence?
You intuitively know that "what you are" is essentially "what's looking".
And that, "what's looking", is your "innermost being". You feel it.
You can easily look and see for yourself and verify that at any time.
But what is it that is looking?
What sees? What hears?
What "knows"? What is "aware"?
It seems very obvious, maybe, very ordinary, so often overlooked. So what?
We may think we already know what it is that's "looking" -- it's "me", of course, this body, isn't it? Well, this blog is intended to be an exploration to carefully look into that, and to entertain the possibility that that may not really be the case, about what it really is that is looking.
Welcome to the blog.
